Charlotte Country Day School senior basketball player Alex Tabor has found a way to successfully balance basketball success with a very strong academic resume. The son of Wellford and Ann Tabor stands six feet, two inches tall and leads the Buccaneers in many categories from his guard position. Let’s go Beyond The Game to learn more about Alex.

What is your role on the Buccaneers Team?

“I am a team captain and I play the Shooting Guard position. My role is teammate, leader, and scorer.”

What are you top athletic accomplishments?

“I am currently averaging 21 points per game this season.As a junior I set three school records; nine three pointers in a game, 98 three pointers in a season and I made 88.3% of my free throws. My club team also won the Adidas Gauntlet Silver Championship in New York City.”

What are some of your favorite basketball memories?

“Scoring 32 against Greensboro Day in my junior year, scoring 37 against Queens Grant this year and bus rides with my AAU team this summer.”

What is next for you following graduation?

“I am planning to play in college. I am considering different opportunities right now.”

How well do you perform in the classroom?

“I have a 4.38 grade point average and I am President of the Buccaneer Investment Group. I have been a member of the Head Master’s List from 10th-12th grade and I am also in the National Honor Society.”
