Weddington High School sophomore lacrosse player Anthony Todaro has been named the Karsey Glass Breakout Star of the Week.  The son of John and Pamela Todaro was a member of last year’s Weddington High State Championship Lacrosse team and hopes to achieve that same honor again this spring. He was honored to have been able to make the varsity team as a freshman.  “I will never forget the first day of tryouts, stepping on a field filled with a number of NCAA Division 1 lacrosse commits.  I was nervous, but several of the returning players embraced me.  They challenged me and made me better each and every day.”

Following the school season, Anthony has a very busy summer planned.  “This summer, I will play travel lacrosse with Team 24/7.  It will be my fifth season with the club.  We’re competing in tournaments in Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania.  I will also participate in Showtime presented by Maverik Lacrosse.  It’s an invitation only showcase for the top 168 rising freshman, sophomores, and juniors in the country.  It takes place on the campus of Western Connecticut State University in late June.”

Inside the classroom, Anthony is a strong student with a 4.33 grade point average.  He is also an active member of the Weddington High School DECA Club.  This year he won Top Role Play for Sports and Entertainment Marketing at Districts and won a Proficiency Award in the same category at the North Carolina DECA State Convention.  Congratulations to Anthony Todaro for being named the Karsey Glass Breakout Star of the Week.
