Katie Bender

Providence High School junior volleyball player Katie Bender has been named the Karsey Glass Breakout Star of the Week. The
16 year old daughter of Greg and Carol Bender has played volleyball since the seventh grade. She plays the Middle Hitter and
Right Side positions for the Panthers Volleyball Team.

Katie helped the Panthers to an undefeated conference championship season last year. Away from school Katie plays on a national
level club team and works hard on her sport all year. Katie has set goals of bringing passion and energy to the court every
game and practice. She hopes to help push the team to another conference championship season.

Inside the classroom, Katie carries a 4.0 unweighted grade point average. She is enrolled in bothkarsey
AP and Honors level classes at Providence. Katie is a member of the Math Honor Society, Mosaic
Club and she also participates in the Girl Scouts. Katie also performs countless hours of community
service through the Girl Scouts, Mosaic Club and her church, Matthews United Methodist Church.
