Charlotte Christian School senior Cole Von Cannoncannon_picture
has been named the Queen City Audio, Video and
Appliances Community Heroes Award Winner. The
son of Lloyd and Ashley Von Cannon plays multiple
sports, swimming, track and field, football and lacrosse.
Currently his focus is squarely on the upcoming football
season where he will play defensive end, linebacker
and offensive guard for the Knights. He hopes to help
lead the team to a state championship this fall. In order
to win that title, Cole says he must play his role on the
team which involves securing the edge and preventing
outside running plays while pressuring the quarterback.
Off the field, Cole plans to be a leader both vocally and
through his actions while setting an example to the younger

Cole’s favorite memory in sports came last year as the team
defeated Davidson Day in the state semifinals. He says, “It
was my favorite not just because it was a phenomenal
playoff game but because of the combined effort of the entire
team battling through adversity and injury to pull off the win.”

Even with all of his football success, Cole’s top athletic
accomplishment he lists is winning the state championship in
the 50 freestyle and breaking the school and conference record
time. It’s not every day one will find a football player that wins
the state championship in swimming.

Inside the classroom, Cole is an excellent student with a 4.5 grade
point average. He serves as an Admissions Representative in Student
Government and is also in the National Honor Society and the Honors

Cole is a member of the Providence United Methodist Church Youth
Group where he serves our community though non-profit organizations;
Servants With A Heart, The Crisis Center and Samaritan’s Purse.

Queen City Audio, Video and Appliances salutes Cole Von Cannon for his
continued commitment serving others in our community.
