Charlotte Christian School ninth grade footballsimpkins_picture
and baseball player AJ Simpkins has been named
the Carefree Boat Club Rising Star of the Week.
The son of Brad and Kelly Simpkins plays
quarterback in football and outfield in baseball.
He recently completed playing in the US National
Football Team’s Development Games where he
was chosen to carry the United States flag at the
opening of the game. AJ was invited after having
a great performance at USA Football’s Regional
Development Camp in Charlotte back in April.
The Development games are an invite only, week
long camp that culminates in a full length game
between two teams per age group formed at camp.
At these games, players from all over the country
are competing for a roster spot on the US National
Football Team which will compete in the International
Bowl at AT&T Stadium in Arlington Texas in January.

AJ is working hard to prepare for the upcoming football
season. He hopes to be a part of another Charlotte
Christian Football Conference Championship Team this fall.

Inside the classroom, AJ says; “I’m a good student but
want to be a better student. I plan to work harder this
year on my academics.” AJ also serves as a football
buddy for Take On Sports, a position he has worked
in for the last three years.

Congratulations to AJ Simpkins for being named the
Carefree Boat Club Rising Star of the Week.
