Marvin Ridge High School senior track athlete Emma Lugibihl has been named the Union County Student-Athlete of the Week, Powered by Huntington Learning Center. The 17 year old daughter of Tad and Marjorie Lugibihl participates in the 100, 200, 4×100, 4×200 and 4×400 relay events for the Mavericks.

Emma’s favorite memory on the track to date has been being a part of the 2015 Indoor Track State Championship Team. She qualified for the state
indoor championships in each of the last three seasons and also earned her way to the outdoor state championships all three years. Emma’s best event
is the 200M where he has a best time of 27.9 seconds.

Once track season concludes and graduation from Marvin Ridge High School is in the rear view mirror, Emma will depart for North Carolina State
University. She thought hard before making the choice to become a member of the Wolfpack.

“I made this decision because I really love the campus and the energy, and think that it is a really good fit for me, and it’s an overall good school.”
Inside the classroom Emma has worked hard to build a strong academic resume. She carries a 4.6 grade point average and is enrolled in five AP
courses along with many honors classes. Emma is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Young Life.

Congratulations to Emma Lugibihl for being named as the inaugural winner of the Union County Student-Athlete of the Week Award, Powered by
Huntington Learning Center.
