South Charlotte Sports Report

Preseason Top-1o Football Rankings

1.     Butler

The Bulldogs are as fully loaded and locked in on battling for a state championship. The two largest road blocks are right here at home,                               Independence and Mallard Creek.

2.     Charlotte Catholic

I say it every year, the names on the roster change, but the results stay the same.   This wonderful football program will be                                                                  as strong as ever and will begin to pass the ball a little more this  season. Watch out for Jaret Anderson, he is a special player.

3.     Charlotte Christian

Headed for yet another state title.   Coach Jason Estep has proven to be one of the best coaches in the state and the                                                                          Knights will roll through the private school ranks for another  state title.

 4.     Weddington

The Warriors specialize in defense, but carry an impressive  offense into the season. Lance and Myles Moore are quite a                                                                     combo of destruction.

5.     Ardrey Kell

The Knights made a nice hire in Joe Evans as head coach. He has some high D1 level talent that can contend for a conference  title.

6.     Providence

Lots of talent, strong core of linebackers, a talented but young  quarterback.   If it all comes together expect a three way race                                                                   for conference title.

7.    Cuthbertson

Kendall to Cauthen for another Cuthbertson TD!   Need I say more?  Quite a combo out in Waxhaw

8.     Charlotte Latin

Melvin Rouse leads the always steady Latin Football team. Can they find the magic to defeat Charlotte Christian?

9.     South Meck

Top loaded with strong football players. If depth is there, can and will upset a couple of their conference mates ranked above.

 10.     Marvin Ridge

Expect the Mavericks to look a lot better than last year. Some very talented sophomores will combine with upperclassmen to                                                                lead the team to the playoffs.
