Parkwood High School may not be in the coverage area for the South Charlotte Sports Report, but we were impressed when we heard from their JV Cheer Coach about all the great work they had done in the community.

As told by Coach Jamey Harlow

“Our team is athletic and talented but what makes them special reaches far beyond jumps, stunts, or tumbling. I challenged the girls to compete for the NCHSAA Commissioners cup this year and they have set an incredible example for their peers! The Comissioners cup is awarded for community service. My team has completed at least one service project per month for six months. Some of those include; volunteer service for Turning Point the local domestic violence shelter in Union County, a canned food drive for Operation Reach Out our local food bank, collection and stocking stuffing for the Union County Christmas Bureau, and the list keeps going. This is cheer-LEADING at it’s very best.”

We salute this outstanding group of girls for all their hard work.  Your community is a better place because of your dedication to serving!
