The 1st Annual South Charlotte Sports Report Skills Day With The Stars Fundraiser was held on Saturday November 8th.  Over 100 campers enjoyed instruction from top area high school coaches and players.   The event was held to benefit Shenise Strong and The Adam Faulk Tanksley Foundation.

Eli Shenise is a twelve year old seventh grader at Community House Middle School who was diagnosed in May with a type of cancer known as Burkitts Lymphoma. After undergoing four rounds of Chemotherapy, which required him to basically spend his entire summer break in Levine Children’s Hospital, he is well on his way to what we hope will be a successful recovery. All rounds of chemo have been completed and as of his last check-up in late October, he remains cancer free.

The South Charlotte Sports Report wants to thank the following High School Coaches and Professional Players for contributing their time to help make this event such a huge success:  Myers Park High School Head coach Matt Burnett and his staff, South Meck Head Coach John Tuscan, Covenant Day School Head Coach David Houseton, coach Lou Presutti and the Cooperstown Dreams Park staff, Tyler Tewell, Ryan Butler, Jeff Schaefer, Travis Thompson and the many volunteers that were there.  We also want to thank the great folks at South Charlotte Recreation Association for hosting the event.

Together we made a difference and created a wonderful day of baseball in honor of Eli Shenise.
