Charlotte Catholic Captures South Meck 8 Soccer Conference Title
If you are going to capture a conference title on the final day of the season, you may as well aim high and beat one of the top teams in the state. The Charlotte Catholic Cougars lived up to their pre-season goal by topping Providence High School 3-0 to end the season on top of the South Meck 8 Conference Standings. With a record of 18-2-1 overall and 13-1 in the conference the Cougars took home the hardware with the win over the 16-4-1 and 11-3 Panthers.

On their home field the Cougars were led by a two goal effort from Brendan McDonough who also provided a timely assist. Jordan Poff rung the back of the net for the other Cougar goal.

In the end, the Catholic defense was just too tough to break for Providence. Led by goalkeeper Sean Pratt, the Cougars armor wasn’t going to bend on this final night of the season.
Both the Cougars and the Panthers will be among the heavily favored 4A teams looking to advance in the state championship. Good luck to both squads and bring home the gold!
