BEYOND THE GAME WITH JOSH LANEY

Josh Laney is a fourteen-year-old 8th grade student at Carmel Middle School. With support and inspiration from his family and friends growing up in the Charlotte United family, Laney continues developing as a soccer player. After doing very good things for his middle school team, this center defender will surely succeed at the high school level next year at South Mecklenberg. (complete story)
CHARLOTTE LATIN BOYS CLAIM STATE SOCCER TITLE
The Charlotte Latin Hawks continued their tradition of playing championship soccer this season. Head Coach Lee Horton led the boy’s soccer team to their seventh state title under his leadership. The road to the state title was filled with challenges from the top public and private teams in the state. In the end, an 18-3-2 season was capped off with a win over Providence Day in an all-Charlotte area state final. (complete story)
MUFC NAVY 90 GIRLS CAP OFF A FANTASTIC FALL
The MUFC Navy 90 Girls Soccer Club Team advanced all the way to the State Cup Championship Game recently. The group of talented girls came up 1 goal short in the finals versus The Greensboro Twisters. MUFC had a terrific season winning the last 18 games and only conceding 2 goals! (more information)
BEYOND THE GAME WITH CHRIS MANN
Chris Mann is the captain of the # 10 ranked Marvin Ridge High School soccer team. His play in goal has allowed the second year school to sprint out to an 8-0-1 record. Chris has recorded six shutouts and only allowed three goals on the season! Chris is also a very good lacrosse player for The Mavericks.(complete story)
COMMUNITY HOUSE MIDDLE GIRLS WIN SOCCER TITLE
These girls are good! The Community House Middle School girl’s soccer team captured the conference championship this season outscoring their opponents 50-6! The Cavaliers recorded nine shutouts and won two shootouts to round out an unforgettable season on the soccer field.
Head coach Jeff Smith is very proud of the girl’s efforts.

Lara is a three year varsity starter for the Weddington Warriors Soccer Team. She is also a member of Matthews USA Premier Team. Lara is very successful in the classroom, carrying a 4.4 grade point average.(complete story)
HALIE SHIPLEY FOLLOWS A ROADMAP TO SUCCESS
With the combination of a 4.6 grade point average and soccer skills that have been recognized nationally, Marvin Ridge High School junior Halie Shipley is following a roadmap to success. The powerful, young soccer player is in her first year at Marvin Ridge High School after transferring over from Weddington High School when Marvin Ridge opened last fall. Halie helped Weddington High School advance to the state championship game last spring. Along with her new teammates, Halie, the daughter of Kirk and Leslie Shipley has helped to establish the Mavericks as one of the top 3-A teams in the state. Could a return visit to the state championship game be in order this spring? Many observers believe it could possibly happen.
Under the leadership of Head Coach Ray Fumo, the Mavericks have formed a fast bond and are playing together as a team. Halie is quick to comment on the chemistry of the Mavericks.(complete story)
CHARLOTTE SOCCER CLUB TEAMS PUT ON SHOW AT DISNEY SHOWCASE
This past Thanksgiving weekend, while most of America was reclining on a favorite couch, recuperating from Thursday’s turkey dinner, the young men and women from Charlotte Soccer Club were battling it out with some of the nation’s finest young soccer players.(complete story)
THE FUTURE IS NOW FOR MARVIN RIDGE MAVERICKS SOCCER TEAM
“The future is now, we have to play consistently and keep improving as a team.” Those are the words of veteran soccer coach Roy Fuma, the head coach of Marvin Ridge High School.
