ARCHIE MCINTOSH: NOT YOUR TYPICAL ATHLETE

Archie McIntosh, the 18 year old son of Jennifer and Arch McIntosh Jr., is a senior at Charlotte Latin School. He is on both the football team and the lacrosse team at school, and participates in his church’s basketball league. Archie began football eight years ago, and today, plays on the offensive line and defensive line for the Charlotte Latin Hawks (8-1). He took up lacrosse about five years ago, and plays defense for the school’s team. When asked which sport he enjoyed more, Archie replied “I have no preference in sports, I just love competition”. To better prepare himself for the fields, Archie has participated in Charlotte Latin’s weight lifting program, Iron Hawks, since the eighth grade, and throughout the entire summer he attends workouts, as well as partaking in various football training camps. Last year, he was awarded All-Conference and Defensive Player of the Year in lacrosse. (complete story)
DREW DAVIES OVERCOMES A MAJOR OBSTACLE TO LEAD ON THE FIELD
Before the end of the 1st quarter of the Ardrey Kell High School football season opener, starting defensive back Drew Davies had already racked up two forced fumbles with overpowering hits on the opposing team. Both shots left their mark on the ball carriers from North Mecklenburg and left quite an impression on the Ardrey Kell fans. Many of which were asking, “Who is this new player and where did he come from.”(complete story)
THIS IS BILLY’S YEAR TO BE A SABRE FOOTBALL PLAYER
All levels of sports require hard work and a commitment to succeed. High School football is no different, it requires months of physical training on top of a grinding 4 month season of practice and games. Anyone taking on the responsibility of becoming a high school football player must be ready for the level of commitment expected by high school coaches.(complete story)
BEYOND THE GAME WITH WILL KAMIN
Wil Kamin has been the starting kicker for the Charlotte Christian’s varsity football team for the last four years. All four seasons he received all-conference and all-state honors. Wil also punted for the Knights, along with lettering four years as a part of the school’s soccer team. He received all-state honors in soccer as well. He will attend the University of Richmond next season on a football scholarship.(copmlete story)

Andy Robinson is a member of the 7th grade Marvin Ridge Middle School Football Team. He recently concluded the season and is ready to get started on next year already! Andy is the son of Neil and JerriLynn Robinson.(complete story)
JOHNNY O’BOYLE IS ON A MISSION THIS SEASON FOR CHARLOTTE CATHOLIC
All-purpose Charlotte Catholic football player Johnny O’Boyle is on a mission this season. There is something very special that he is after. For the last two seasons, Johnny has been a member of the Cougars varsity football team that finished as runner-ups in the state championship game. He has watched from a distance as other teams raised the state championship plaque at midfield. This year, Johnny wants to be the one holding the Championship plaque and celebrating with his teammates as another team watches.(complete story)

ZICO PASUT CLIMBS ABOARD THE EAST CAROLINA PIRATES SHIP
East Carolina University Head Football Coach Skip Holtz has always been attracted to football players that are full of passion. Growing up as the son of legendary football coach Lou Holtz, Skip learned early on about the value of having passionate football players on his roster. With the recent verbal commitment of Ardrey Kell High School tight end, Zico Pasut to East Carolina, Holtz has landed one of the most passionate, hard working and energetic football players in the state. The 6’3”, 240 pound son of Holly Pasut and the late Alessandro Pasut will head east next August to join the # 23 ranked East Carolina Pirates.(complete story)
CHARLOTTE LATIN AND BUTLER START THE SEASON ON TOP OF THE SUPER SEVEN FOOTBALL POLL
The South Charlotte Sports Report Super 7 Poll starts the season with two perennial favorites holding down the first two positions. The Charlotte Latin Hawks kick off the season with a slight edge over the Butler Bulldogs. Both squads lost an abundance of talent to graduation, and will face the tough challenge of having many news players ready from the opening kickoff next week. (complete story)
