Providence High School sophomore Connor Meehan meehan_picture
has been named the Architech Sports and Physical
Therapy Student-Athlete of the Week. The son of
Michael and Cassie Meehan plays basketball and
runs track for the Panthers. This past basketball
season, Connor was able to play on the Panthers
Varsity Team as a ninth grader.

Connor shares his favorite memory in sports;
“We were at my 8th grade middle school track
banquet and my coach, Coach Sawyer, had me
run mile to see if I would be able to break the
school record which was 4:52. Several of my
friends and their parents went down to the track
to cheer me on as I ran the mile. After running,
I turned to look at Coach Sawyer who was looking
at her stop watch. It seemed like minutes went by
before she said, “you did it”! I was overjoyed with
the news.”

It’s been a busy summer for Connor, he recently
returned from Myrtle Beach where his AAU Team,
the South Charlotte Basketball Academy finished
in 9th place at a national event.

Inside the classroom, Connor carries a 4.25 grade
point average and is in the German Club. Congratulations
to Connor Meehan for being named the Architech Sports
and Physical Therapy Student-Athlete of the Week.
