Charlotte Latin School rising junior Ruthie Jones has beenissue252jones
named the Architech Sports and Physical Therapy Student
Athlete of the Week. The 16 year old soccer goalie and
basketball forward is the daughter of Steve and Becca Jones.
With three older siblings all playing or having played a
Division 1 sport (Rebecca-Field Hockey-Davidson,
Daniel-Football-Duke, Bates-Basketball-Davidson) Ruthie
has certainly had lots of folks to compete with over the years.

Her success on the soccer field has earned Ruthie national
recognition. She was part of the U15 USA team CONCACAF
Championship and was awarded the Golden Glove Award.
Ruthie and her Latin teammates also captured the state
championship this past season and hope to do the same
again this coming school year. With continued hard work,
Ruthie is looking forward to having the opportunity to one
day play college soccer. “It’s been a dream of mine to play
soccer at one of the best schools in the nation, so I am trying
to pull that together.”

Inside the classroom, Ruthie carries a 4.33 grade point average.
She is also very active with a commitment to helping others. She has
been involved with many different service projects, including a trip
to Trinidad and Tobago with her soccer team, where they coached
at a soccer camp for underprivileged youth. Congratulations to Ruthie
