Abbey Johnson Named Student Athlete of the Week
Cuthbertson High School sophomore Abbey Johnson has been named the Architect Sports and Physical Therapy Student Athlete of the Week. Abbey is the 16 year old daughter of Jeff and Tracey Johnson and a leading player for the Cavaliers Lacrosse Team. Abbey scored 15 goals last season as a freshman and is also among the team leaders in assists. This spring, Abbey hopes to lead her team to wins over Marvin Ridge and Weddington.
Abbey began playing lacrosse in the sixth grade after playing soccer and being involved in competitive dancing. She left both sports to focus on lacrosse and now hopes to one day play the sport in college.
Abbey has also been on the varsity tennis team for two years and plays club lacrosse all year long.
Inside the classroom, Abbey sports a strong 4.7 grade point average and is a member of the Beta Club, FCA, Biology Club and her church’s youth group.
