Austin Leonard

Providence High School senior baseball player Austin Leonard has been named the Architech Sports and Physical Therapy Student-Athlete of the Week. The son of Ty and Renee Leonard posted a record of 5-0 on the mound with a .91 ERA with 45 strikeouts against 2 walks in 31.67 innings for the Panthers last spring. He will be counted upon to play an even larger role for Providence High School this spring.

Austin also plays showcase baseball for the South Charlotte Panthers organization. Over the last year his record was 9-2 with 86 strikeouts and only 8 walks in 64 innings pitched. He earned a spot on the 2014 PG World Championship All-Tournament Team, the 2014 17U PG WWBA All-Tournament Team and the 2013 PG Underclass World All-Tournament Team.

Inside the classroom, Austin is a successful student with a 4.34 grade point average. He is a member of the National Honor Society, Science National Honor Society and the Spanish Club. Austin will continue his education and baseball career at Davidson College next fall.
