The South Charlotte Sports Report Kicker and Punter of the Year Awards have a distinct Union County flavor this season.   With strong legs all around the area, two specialist found a way to distinguish themselves from such a large group of competitive kickers this Fall.

Kicker of the Year: Keith Duncan

Our selection group kept seeing green when discussing this award. Green as in Weddington High School green on the jersey of Keith Duncan.   The strong legged specialist was close to perfect on the season with 17 field goals, nearly 75 touchbacks and an extra point rate of 97%. Duncan also kicked a last second field goal to top Country Day.

Punter of the Year:         Marion Watson

Marvin Ridge High School punter Marion Watson seemed to get stronger as the year went on. He has worked hard to become a real weapon for the Mavericks. Watson nearly averaged 50 yard a punt and released some of the biggest kicks the area as seen in years, including one that traveled 80 yards down the field. Watson was also near perfect on his extra points this season.
