BEYOND THE GAME WITH BRETT PLYLER

 

Metrolina Christian Academy Senior Brett Plyler is a three sport athlete at his school.  The son of Ronnie and Michelle Plyler plays soccer, basketball and baseball for the Warriors.    He recently completed his soccer season and is ready to begin action on the basketball court.   Let’s go Beyond The Game to learn more about Brett Plyler.

 

 What are your top three athletic accomplishments?

“Winning the Conference Tournament in baseball in 2013, winning the 3 point shooting contest at Liberty Basketball Camp, receiving the MVP award in basketball voted on by my peers.”

 

What is your favorite sports memory?

“Beating Northside Christian Academy (a team rival in basketball) in triple overtime.”

 

What is your favorite part about playing high school soccer?

I love making connections with my coaches and all my teammates, and I enjoy the comraderie and the sportsmanship from each team.”

 

How well do you perform in the classroom? 

“I have a 4.57 grade point average and am very active in school.  I receive the Paul Award for Christian Ministry and Missions Involvement, Barnabas Encourager Award, ACSI Leadership Award, Perfect Attendance, Jr. Marshall, and the Presidential Education Outstanding Academic Achievement Award.  I am involved in the  National Honor Society, Jr. Civitans, Student Government, Warrior Servant Leadership, Campus United, and the Praise and Worship Team.”

 

 Have you made any college plans for next year?

“I plan to attend a four year Christian university and get a college degree in Christian Ministries.”

 

Can you talk about any charity or community work you are involved in?

“I am fortunate to get to volunteer in a variety of areas, from being a sports camp counselor with youth to preparing BBQ at school and church fundraisers. I would have to say that my highlight has been serving during the past two summers on mission trips to Costa Rica, where I had the privilege to help build churches and share the love of Christ with children in the local orphanage.”

 

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

“In my free time I like to fish, hang out with friends and family, and play my guitar.”
