South Mecklenburg High School junior Zack Gilbert has been named the Week 10 South Charlotte Sports Report Most Valuable Football Player.   Zack received 40% of the vote to top Charlotte Christian junior Elijiah Deveaux.

Gilbert led his Sabres to a 20-19 win over a tough Olympic Trojans Team.  Zack scored from 2 yards out and also played a dominant role the entire game for the Panthers.

Zack is 6 foot 3 inches tall, weights over 240 pounds and runs a 4.6 40 yard dash. His physical tools are hard to match on the gridiron.   On behalf of Zack, I know he would like to thank all the Sabres Fans for voting for him.   Look for another outstanding game from Zack on Friday night as the Sabres host the first place Providence Panthers.
