This Week’s High School Football Picks
7-0 Last week, 40-6 on the season! This week present’s some very tough games to pick, making it even tougher is that four of our coverage zone schools are all 6-1 and playing one another. Instead of running away from those games, I will make the pick based on who I think will win. My only hope is for good games all around and for each team to give their best effort and stay safe.
Catholic Over South Meck. The Sabres are playing their best football in well over a decade, is it enough to top Catholic? It could be, but that Catholic Wing T is just so darn tough to defend. One miscue and you end up with a kid running 70 yards for a touchdown. If the sabres can keep the Cougars under 200 yards rushing, they can win the game, I just dont know if they can do that.
Providence over Ardrey Kell. Both teams are playing very well, I give the edge to the Panthers for one reason, Brian Mattar. I feel like he is the most underrated player in the area and is primed for a big game. Unlike in the Catholic -South Meck game,, I think the loser here could still play for a conference title tie.
Weddington over Cuthbertson — Defense is just too strong here
Butler over Rocky River — Butler isnt playing up to their full potential, but I still think they have too many weapons for Rocky River
Charlotte Christian over Country Day
Latin over Cannon
Sun Valley over Marvin Ridge — I dont think Albert Funderburk will run for as many yards as he did last week but he will still put on a show
